Celebrating Camille

Gathering with family in Indianapolis we celebrated our granddaughter, Camille's graduation from Butler University.

Earning degrees in both dance and French, she graduated Cum Laude. Needless to say, we are proud grandparents who want to share some of our favorite celebration photos.

Housemates

Grandy giving sage advise? No, Camille is telling him she is starving.

Did we mention, Camille is a dancer?

The festivities continued in Paducah as we celebrated Camille's 22nd birthday.

How does one get 22 candles on a piece of lemon cheesecake? Very carefully!

A visit to Grandma's house would not be complete without a little time in the garden

and the craft studio.

Our hearts are full but somewhat bittersweet as there will be no more "stop overs" on the way to and from Florida.

Spring arrived in a flurry!

While April was a whirlwind, it was most delightful.

After getting settled back to our normal “at home” routine, ABN tackled the garden while Captain prepared The Wanderer for storage. And then we headed to Indianapolis to see Swan Lake. It was an amazing production by Butler University. Our favorite part was the small swan dance, probably because our granddaughter, Camille, was one of the little swans. It was a quick overnight trip and probably for the first time ever we neglected to take any photos of our visit with Camille and her mom, Holly. (I suspect we will more than make up for that little oversight next month when we attend her graduation.)

The following weekend we celebrated our dear friends, Jean and Sandy’s, 65th wedding anniversary. No, that is not a typo, 65 years!

It was a wonderful celebration with our Paducah family as they shared memories and funny moments. We are so blessed that God chose them to shepherd us many years ago; they have weathered life’s storms with us for more than 27 years.

Before we knew it, it was Quilt Week.

It was such fun having our South Carolina friends, Lee and Carol, with us for part of the week.

While Carol and ABN were occupied with the quilt show, Captain and Lee reminisced about old times. When we say “old” we are talking 46 years of friendship.

Sew Powerful, a faith based charity we work with, returned to the Quilt Show this year. ABN worked at their booth in the Bubble (aka vendor’s center)

while Captain shuttled the volunteers to and from their hotels.

Only two volunteers remained at the end of the show, but we had an “after party” anyway.

Want to know more about Sew Powerful? ABN is always happy to share, with enthusiasm, the details. Or you can click here.

As busy as April was, we made time for Tipsy Tuesday.

It is now May and time to get started on the home improvement project. While we dread the chaos we are looking forward to a craft studio and wine cellar update and a dry basement.
