as we celebrated our granddaughter, Alison’s, 21st birthday.
And what a fun 21 years it has been! We miss those days when she
would run to greet us, wake us up early in the morning to play the silly little
bear game, listening to her imagination, watch her band performances, and all
the other childhood memories. However it is just as much fun watching her
mature into a lovely young lady.
What can we tell you about our oldest granddaughter? Well, as you
can see, she is pretty cute. She is loving college life at University of North
Carolina Wilmington where she is majoring in marine biology and music. A
vegetarian, she knows her way around the kitchen and can prepare some very
tasty meals.
A talented musician, she plays
a mean trumpet, is accomplished on the piano and we never tire of her
beautiful singing voice.
In the summer you might find her diving in the ocean
mentoring teens in the Gold Star Teen Adventures program. Or you might spot her hiking with the GSTA teens in the
Appalachian mountains. Oh, and she is also a mentor to a cute little 5-year old
girl with TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors.)
Yeah, we think she is pretty special.
Thanksgiving and every day we give thanks for Alison, her sister
Camille and her mom Holly.
Nothing fills our souls like the love of family.
Hope all our family and friends, near and far, have had a Happy
Thanksgiving.
